  8. WinSock is an agreed API, and the current version OF THE STANDARD is 1.1.

  10. Each vendor inplements their own copy of WINSOCK.DLL that should conform
  11. to the Windows Sockets API standard, Version 1.1, but the version number
  12. of any given implementation can have any number you like. (PC/TCP's is
  13. currently at 1.11, I think, but I still have 1.04 on some machines. The
  14. PathWorks 5 WINSOCK.DLL is version 5.00.3x, but it's still a WINSOCK 1.1
  15. compliant stack).

  42. I am having a problem with my trumpet newsreader, although it may just be 
  43. something stupid I am overlooking.

  45. It seems that my 'subscribe' mode only shows a portion of the newsgroups 
  46. available on my old TIN newsreader on my shell account.  I just started using 
  47. sockets and I really like it, but I want my old newsgroups to show up on this 
  48. program!  Any input would be GREATLY appreciated!
